instead of giving each other gifts this year(I bought myself some stuff). He gave me strict instructions about reading his. I had to wait until I was on the plane in the air. So after the couple got engaged and my eyes were glossy I remembered his note. I pulled it out and began to read one of the sweetest notes I have ever received. If was difficult to read at times because my tears got in the way(he later said that he watered up writing parts of it). So since he doesn’t read this or even know that I have a blog I am going to share with you my husband. The one on the inside that only I get glimpses of. And if you cry it’s ok.
“Your heart is something I can’t fully comprehend, but it captures my attention and curiosity. I am amazed at your patience, your love, and your general concern for anyone you meet.”
“Lastly, I have to tell you of you elegance and beauty that I see when I look at you. It’s not an advertised or attention-seeking beauty like much of the world. It’s a beauty that is humble and tenderly available. A beauty that writes an epic saga without ever saying a word.”
Gah he makes me smile, cry, and laugh all at the same time.
I truly adore him. Forever and ever amen.
December 2010
I was supposed to depart from Nashville at 7:15 and the flight got delayed until 8:45. I was a hungry, tired, unhappy camper. I finally got to board and there was really not any good seats(I don’t like to sit in the middle) so I sit by this cute couple. They are flirting and making out most of the flight and the guy says he has to go to the bathroom…then he goes to the front of the plane and gets on the intercom and asks for his his “Peanut” to come up, and he gets down on his knee and asks her to marry him. Everyone applauds, and congratulates the newly engaged couple. Meanwhile, I feel like a huge elephant in the seat as they snuggle and talk about their moment, and his planning, the ring.
Don’t know what’s comin’ tomorrow
Maybe it’s trouble and sorrow
But we’ll travel the road
Sharing our load
Side by side.

When I start reflecting back on the year and make my top ten moments list. Kyle and I do this on a cozy night over a cup of hot tea(prolly quiet moments). It’s really nice to see what he thinks is a memorable moment verses what I think is. This night usually ends with lots of laughter.
